Side note: I know, me too. :( The puzzle pieces are all there but they don't fit. I just see them as a normal girl and a normal guy in a normal relationship. Even though they're really not that at all.

This is pretty much it. It just seems like two average people who are dating (even though I know they're married, something about it doesn't scream married. Probably because I've never know any young married couples).

Different anon. That's actually why I like Amy/Rory, because they are normal. I like relationships that I know have a chance of lasting, this is also why I usually don't like Doctor/whoever romances because I know it's always going to end badly (I like some tragic romances, but it just tends to grind on my nerves sometimes when we are supposed to get invested in a story that we know will not be a happy ending.)

But I can agree about Karen's acting, on occasion it can fall pretty flat and sometimes when I am supposed to be feeling something from her I really don't. Arthur is usually good enough though that his side of things always gets an emotion from me.

But the whole point of their relationship seems to be that it's some Epic Love That Spans Time and Space. It's wrapped and delivered as an Epic Romance and it's just...not. If it were just supposed to be a normal relationship, I'd be like "Yea totally. Amy and Rory are a cool couple. I totally buy it."

WORD. It's probably a writing issue, because I can't ship anything unless I'm really invested in both characters, and I'm barely invested in Amy or Rory. They're just a pair of bland, pretty faces who have a bland relationship. They're like the margarine of romance.
