The dub was SO BAD. OMG the puns. And some of the names were totally pulled out of their asses. Yolei? What were they smoking to get that from Miyako?

I think if the fandom still had a decent presence, you'd find more elitists, but as it is, it's probably just too small to have a large population of dub/sub contests.

I was a bit crushed when I realize how much NOT friends they were in the book. Though Boq got off rather better than in the musical. Not so much Fiyero though :/

It's like the broken telephone of fanfic. Original book --> Wicked book --> Wicked musical. I love it.

...Didn't you just answer your own question? In a sea of crap, sometimes it's hard to find the good stuff... And then people don't notice right away.

I know perfectly awesome writers who aren't BNFs, and perfectly popular writers who I think suck. So? It's a tight fandom. If you write goodfic, word will get around. If you write goodfic, hell, rec it to me and I'll TELL people about it who will care.

If you REALLY want to be a BNF, though, start buying up rarepair doujin and posting it. Or the CDs. Or DVDs. See? Nobody wants to do that. It costs money.

So, really, just be patient or hush.

1. I feel like the only person alive who has no interest in WOW, I swear.

2. I don't think wishing they'd close will solve anything. I wish they'd stop selling outfits and things like Vash's jacket, though. The point of cosplay is not to rip off other people's work.

10. I was scared of FF7 fandom long before AC. :\ The pretty uke Cloud in your graphic, for instance, makes me sad. But I'm glad I enjoy FF7 from the sidelines, because I don't like what fandom does to it these days. Put. The silver-haired "bishies". Down.

30. I absolutely hated that book! It was okay until it rambled into the midway section, crashed and then burned in a miserable scrap heap for the remaining 200 pages, rose up -- and then just ended. ...what was so great about that? The play, though...
