One would be putting Ten-Ten's characteristics onto Bella, the other would be putting Bella's onto Ten-Ten. They're the exact opposite.

Not a Naruto fan, but I have to say that trying to merge two different fandoms rarely works out well. While there may initially be similarities between certain situations and characters, in the long run you'd have to change the characterization in order to make their actions make sense, and that usually gets fans' blood up.

Not really sure why this is being posted here but ok...

The worst AU I ever read for any fandom was one that took a movie (movie A) and inserted characters from a different fandom into it. And no, they didn't re-hash it or anything. It was almost word for word movie A just without the original characters. Was bored to tears and almost called the author out on it.

If you're going to do something like what you're planing don't just redo the Twilight story with Naruto characters. Just take the idea behind the Twilight universe and apply it.

Go for it. Hell, I've had tons of fun with crossovers. As long as you label them as crossover AU, you shouldn't have any trouble with fandom.

It sounds like you're still telling the story of Twilight either way, OP. I think that alone is just going to turn people away. And not to rain on your fandom parade or anything but a lot of people got tired of Naruto a long time ago. Most fans I've known personally don't care about it anymore because Kishimoto dragged it on for too long.

I really don't like saying this, especially when you sound so enthusiastic, but it has to be said.

This fic-idea of yours sounds like a terrible idea. Doing "some research into things I don't care about" is not a great attitude either. There are so many things wrong already with your plot and "characters" in this secret that I just... can't.

I get the feeling you posted this secret in the hopes that people would tell you 'I'd read that' and in doing so give you the confidence to actually write it.

To be honest, this doesn't sound like something I'd be into, but that doesn't matter, you should still write it if you want to. Fic writing should be fun, so if you'd get any enjoyment out of this Naruto/Twilight crossover/fusion/thing then do it, don't let anyone talk you out of it or belittle your idea, write it for yourself and not for anyone else.

I've personally never found a "story X but retold with characters from unrelated story Y!" fanfic that's managed to hold my interest. But if it's something you want to do and you think it'd be fun to write, go for it. As long as you're having fun that's all that really matters.

The funny thing about this is that the way Naruto was going before I stopped watching it reminds me a lot of Twilight. Sasuke ran away and everybody was angsting about it--sound familiar? Nobody wants to just let the jerk leave because he's the oh-so-perfect sparklepire hottie and can do no wrong.

Turn Naruto into Jacob and we've got ourselves some crappy AU yaoi fic. :3
