Especially if it's born from hearsay and lack of experience.
I'd say at least half of the girls who themselves have had anal sex before aren't half as anal (lol) about the whole lube&preparation-thing.
Sure it CAN be painful without. But reading endless paragraphs of mechanical sphincter-stretching can be painful, too.
