I've seen every single episode and I used to look forward to it every week, for the great characters and even for the medical plots. And I feel like now I can't look away, even though I hate virtually everything they'd done to the show.

If there were going to be a bunch more seasons maybe even I would give it up but there's only one season left and I want to know how it ends, even though I'm sure it will be trainwreck of epic proportions.

Maybe it still doesn't make sense... but that's about it.

I used to watch it and after I thought I might not like it any more, I dropped it pretty fast and just stopped caring about it. I do this with all shows bc it's a waste of time to watch smth you hate.

I love a good trainwreck, but for me to watch one it has to either start that way or get so ridiculous you cant turn away. House was neither of those.

I will stick with a show that I don't like anymore in hopes that maybe it'll stop sucking and go back to how I liked it before. Except after awhile I'll just give up. I did with House. I can't stand it anymore and I stuck it out for another whole season before I gave up hope of ever liking it again. It's not always the show's fault either. Sometimes my preferences change, NBD.

I'm not into House, but I do watch CSI:, and last season made me want to tear my hair out. I could barely stand it, but I kept watching because I kept HOPING it would get better and go back to being the show I loved in the first place. In this particular case, the patience paid off; this year's season has been much more enjoyable to watch so far. I think it just depends on your tolerance level, and just how badly you feel your show of choice is being butchered.

this. i'm not usually one for formulaic shows, but why didn't they stick with the formula they had? :(

and i'm not just talking about the way they solve cases (which hasn't changed too much). i'm talking about the characters, the dynamics, the relationships, etc.
as soon as that all changed, things started going downhill.

I gave up with House a while ago, but I can understand that some people would still stick around for the characters or in the hope that an episode will capture the spark of older seasons. A part of me wants to go back to the show just to see what the characters are up to, even though the show was an embarrassing hot mess when I left it.

Haha oh man, I watched the first few episodes of the new season out of a terrible trainwreck popcorn.gif fascination after what they did to the end of the last season, but honestly I've since dropped it.

I'm so glad I did, too. I watched out of obligation/habit and I didn't realize how much I'd come to... not enjoy it anymore until I stopped watching it. Usually when I drop a show I still have some desire to watch it again but with House I'm just... I think I got everything good I could out of that show. Some other people may like what they get out of the show the way it is now, which I am all for, but yeah, not for me. :C

I feel the SAME WAY, OP. Back during seasons 3 and 4, I was completely obsessed with the show and was a hardcore shipper... even though my love for it cooled around season 6 or so, I can't stop watching. It still has moments when I recognize it as the show I loved.

Also I think it's pretty cool that this is secret number 13. Too bad she's gone now, but I'm happy Olivia Wilde has gone on to bigger things because HOT DAMN that woman is gorgeous and I wish her all the luck in the world because I totally have a crush. T_T

Olivia Wilde is a huge part of why I kept watching the show as long as I did. I definitely have a crush as well.

I didn't know she was leaving until I saw the episode. My only consolation is that now her character won't be kicked around by House anymore.

This is the show that taught me that same thing. I was late to the party with House anyway, but once I started watching the early seasons I was definitely hooked. The character dynamics, the cases themselves... But last season did very little for me, outside of a few episodes that I still found interesting. This season... I don't think I've liked a single episode. :/ And yet I know I'll keep watching until the end.

Wow, this show has gone through too many cast changes, I haven't watched since '08, so the cast pic was a big jarring. I see they've added a new Cameron/Thirteen stand-in.

I'm sure you don't care this much, but: there are two new female castmembers, since they lost Thirteen and Cuddy. But the "pretty one" frustratingly fills basically the same role. Thirteen at least got to be a little bit different eventuslly, but the newest girl basically IS Cameron-from-the-first-couple-seasons. (God, I can't even think of the new character's name right now.)

Cameron was the girl House claimed was too pretty to be a doctor, so she must be fucked up somehow. But she was in it to Do The Right Thing, because she wanted to Help People, and because she was almost unfalteringly idealistic. The new woman... is the one who is super-pretty, and so House has wanted to know why she's in medicine and what her fucked-upedness must be. And it's that she wants to Do The Right Thing because she's had such a financially privileged life, so she wants to Help People, and she's almost unfalteringly idealistic.

It really is a shame how crappy this show has gotten. Although, now I'm curious about how it's going to end. Not curious enough to actually watch the show, but I'm sure F!S will fill me it.
