Giving yourself up for the good of others is something that was always expected of women in the past so even though in some situations it may be a strong trait, it just leaves an uneasy feeling with me. Blablafeminaziblabla.

(Anonymous) 2011-11-26 01:16 am (UTC)(link)I think this may just be an example of some people viewing a trait as strong and some viewing it as weak. In this case, facing her death for the greater good is considered an example of strength to some, I feel more along the lines that if she had been truly strong, she wouldn't have done what everyone expected of her.
I'm beginning to believe more than anything she was just a poorly written character in my eyes.

Personally, why I like Yuna is that even though she would feel obligated to do certain things doesn't mean that she agrees with it 100%. I mean she wouldn't go with the crazy idea of actually defeating Sin without the Final Summoning if she wasn't tired of the constant cycling of sacrifice to stave off Sin for another few years herself, especially when it was reveal that all of the High Summoners before her died for basically nothing up to that point. Yes, she had courage in that regard of going on a suicide mission. Why I liked Yuna because she eventually broke out of that.
