Perhaps posting a secret here about it was a bad idea, but considering the levels of sarcasm, I'm guessing I'm not in the minority. ~~Though I guess most people here are thinking I live under a rock.~~

But it was either this, or get into the fandom. (And I know I've heard wanky things about fandom, so. Not too sure if I want to get involved.)

And FTR, I've only started a few weeks ago. I'd heard about it years ago, but I never remotely considering picking it up.

You don't need to be an active part of fandom to read the fic. In fact, considering the staggeringly large volume of fic out there, you could easily spend your time doing nothing but read :D

(having said that - you've only just started the show? Maybe best to watch as much as you can before looking for fic, unless you don't mind spoilers.)

(I'm on season four, so I've seen some very enjoyable, ship-worthy scenes by now. But I DO know that plot really gets serious (while not knowing the details specifically) past season four, so it's probably best to catch up first before I start reading fics.)

spnnewsletter and delve into the archives! Anything before that date is spoiler-free and safe and you can read all the wincest your little heart desires.

It's just that the SPN fandom has a pretty widespread reputation for the big obsession with Wincest so it's pretty surprising anyone wouldn't know already that it's a big thing. I mean, I'm sure they're the most popular incest ship out there.

Don't be too scared of the fandom. There is a lot of really really good Sam/Dean fic out there that makes the occasional idiocy and annoying negativity worth it. (If you think you like the ship now...heheh.)

I've been bombarded with too much Star Trek and Doctor Who from friends to realize just how big Wincest is. Supernatural and its ships never really occurred to me until recently.

(That chuckle is mildly alarming!)

I'm sorry if my teasing came off as mean-spirited, OP, that wasn't how it was intended. Keep on keepin' on. :)

If it's anything to you, I've got a weird nostalgia. Wincest wank used to be pretty frequent here.

I actually picked it up recently too (had the terrible idea to catch up before the season finale). If you're looking for fic there's entire communities dedicated to recs -- I've been using

sawedoff_recs and

crack_impala.

Also, God help you when you reach 5x22.
