Totally seconded. I'm fucking tired of miserable/stoically suffering/angsty/braveface characters. Give me an honest frothing freak-out and killing spree, a shrug, or FOR CRISSAKE MAYBE SOMEBODY CAN JUST COPE FOR ONCE AND THEN GO FOR A NICE LUNCH SOMEWHERE

That's why I love Disgaea. ♥

I mean I love happy characters, but not if they're all LOOK AT ME SMILING BRAVELY WHILE EVERYBODY KNOWS IM SECRETLY ANGSTY. It's like normal people can't be heroes any more, ever, period, the end, wtf? HAPPY NORMAL PEOPLE WOULD BE BETTER AT HERO-ING, they don't have random weird mental problems to deal with while trying to save the world adjfjhfnsfnjsf

I also love it. The closest thing to OMG SECRET PAIN is probably Mid-Boss briefly doubting his magnificence. And then he gets over it and it's back to prinny bombs!

...holy crap, I just realized how much I love Disgaea for making an animal that is designed to die a horrible messy death at a moment's notice and having them be totally groovy about it. *sobs with joy*
