9. You shouldn't be ashamed. FF7 wasn't the first FF or the first RPG I ever played, and it's not my favorite, but I still enjoy it and just wish the graphics weren't so damn ugly enjoy all the new material coming out for it. You should, in fact, be proud.

You actually played the game. In this day and age, with the sheer number of loud "fans" who haven't actually played the games who have opinions on it/write prettyslash for Sephiroth's clones because they saw the movie and that's good enough? You're a rarity.

13. Rock on. Any fan who looks only at the two-dimensional aspect of the character presented on paper and thinks, "He's cool because he's emo" or "she's boring because she's happy" is a lame. fan.

I do understand people bashing FFVII fans who haven't played the game. Reading spoilers will only get you so far - I can't imagine how people could think that they know the story of a game that long just from some plot description, or worse, from the AC DVD's recap of the game. That thing made no sense.

I'll confess to being shallow and really, wholeheartedly desiring a remake with updated graphics. No amount of love for that game can fully overcome the fact that I can count the polygons on the characters.

God, I know. :\ Cloud is these three blue shapes topped with this yellow hedgehog. It's just hard to replay.

Unfortunately I fear for a remake, because I'm afraid they'll take all the charm out of the original game in lieu of making it pretty.

Also I think the horrible typos etc are endearing 8D

IAWTC :( A remake scares the crap out of me.

I have a sentimental attachment to the popeye people with huge arms and the awkward translations.

Exactly! I love the random hobos on the trains that say, "This is my house," and the crossdressing and all the awesome people in the Wall Market and the fun music and the, "This guy are sick!" and the bright, distinctive everything!

The game holds so much atmospheric nostalgia for me, and I think that's the nerdiest thing I've ever said.

Exactly how I feel. ;o; Argh, I just know a lot of the humor and dopey charm would be lost forever. They would gloss over everything to make it feel slick and hip and suddenly there's no toilet humor or option to force Cloud into sexy lingerie.

I think the quintessential difference between the original game and new canon is that in the original Tifa yells, "Quit being a retard!", and in Compilation everyone wears leather.

I think I cause a lot of unnecessary wank, but thank you! Your comments are always spot-on.
