The OP don't want the Beatles to break up over Yoko Ono (however historically accurate that might be).
This is in no way misogyny, since not women in general are the target here, but one specific person.

I am so fucking sick of the "Yoko broke up the Beatles" bullshit. Are you seriously suggestion that John freakin' Lennon was some of sort of mindless, spineless wimp would let Yoko guide him around by his dick, and didn't make any decisions for himself after he met her?

John Lennon was a pretty messed up individual and his mother died when he was a teenager. He was very impressionable because he changed completely after meeting Yoko whom he called 'mother'. Before Yoko he scoffed at avant garde and being with Yoko DID change him into a hipster. He also got a lot skinnier because Yoko had him on a diet. She had a profound effect on the person John became, positive or negative is up to your point of view.

And yeah 'The Beatles' broke up because internal conflict and their dynamic couldn't work forever but it's pretty well documented that Paul, George, and Ringo were very uncomfortable with Yoko's unwanted input during their jamming sessions.

George and Ringo felt under-appreciated and then John decided he wanted to go in a different direction with Yoko. John was the one who put more strain on the already strained group by bringing Yoko, because he knew it would annoy the rest of them.

I love John Lennon and think he's brilliant (sometimes) but he has has always been an underhanded douchbag and a hypocrite. I don't think Yoko wanted to control him or had an ulterior motive to break up The Beatles, rather I think John wanted to be controlled because he has documented mommy issues.

ignoring the misogyny, what the heck did women even do to the two of them? i mean, lennon, okay, yoko ono - it's a bullshit tired cliche (i get the feeling john was kind of ready to move on, all good things, she's not some evil succubus woman) but what the hell did paul mccartney ever suffer? he broke up with a bunch of ladies, there's no great tragedy to be avoided here. dang.

other things i have learned while writing this post:

- there is no member of the beatles named george mccartney (brain fart)
- george harrison's wife saved his life by single-handedly subduing an attacker in 1999. damn girl.

The band was starting to suck anyway, for other reasons not related to their personal lives. I always thought their "acid rock" albums Rubber Soul and Revolver were their best work, it was all downhill from there, really (Revolver is the only Beatles album I own)

I'm confused. I have over 144 songs by the Beatles on my iPod. Are you telling me we needed more Beatles music? And that given the chance to change anything in history, you'd make it so there was more Beatles music? Maybe it's because they broke up long before I was born, but I see no point in them staying together.

Seriously, go back in time and get Hitler into art school. Just do something with more of a point than this.
