Dear OP, I am sorry you feel this way. Just because you think this does not make you completely bad person. Its normal to judge others, even if were told not to.

Yes, I suppose you can laugh at a cosplayer for being fat the same way you can put on a costume of your favorite character.

Just remember next time you are about to laugh at them, it probably took them a lot of courage to put on that costume and go in public, and think of how they feel having someone laugh at them just for doing something they love.

Not the OP, but someone who agrees with the sentiment, and I like this comment. The secret isn't really about being a horrible person, it's about being honest. I'm sure plenty of people agree with the sentiment and would just never admit to it because it's pretty dickish.

Fatties are funny and occasionally gross, but you've got to respect the guts they have for going out there and putting it all on the line. I'm a skinny bitch and I'd probably be way too embarrassed to ever give it a shot.

If only they could dress up their inner beauty as fictional characters.

On a say anything community, anyone is free to be as honest as they like - and commenters can honestly reply that they are disgusted by the OPs thoughts. If you don't want to hear it, don't read the comments. Pretty simple.

This. People on this thread are all like 'no you can't think that way', but you can, it's your opinion. Doesn't mean OP is right, but as long as you're not telling them they look gross, having opinions isn't hurting anyone.

But yeah, laughing at them IS be a douche move. And those costumes actually look pretty good, I'm jealous.

But opinions can be harmful, maybe if OP never told another living soul they felt this way they might not be, but we know they've already stated this opinion at least once anonymously.

Opinions like this lead to dehumanizing people which can be very harmful. Once you stop thinking of a person as a person then it's perfectly acceptable to you to do things like laugh at them, make fun of them, treat them horribly and do things that you would just never do to someone you respected.

Op is free to think the way they think, yes, but a lot of us would prefer Op DIDN'T think that way because the more people try to open their minds and be kind to people not like them, the better off society is. And sometimes the only way to have that happen is to come back at people who believe harmful things.
