(Anonymous) 2011-12-06 10:06 am (UTC)(link)They take this woman who was previously badass, and then suddenly all she talks about is the baby. Her life doesn't extend beyond the baby. (Meanwhile, the father gets to balance both very easily.) I'm not saying neglect the kid. I'm saying don't turn her into a sexist stereotype--especially when it's ONLY the woman who has this happen to her.

I realise that IRL new relationships and babies do take over your life for a while but I am watching generally shows about spies, cops, space flight, magic users, time travel, &c--it's not the most realistic genre and nobody watches this stuff to get a domesticity fix.
