Secret from a couple days ago, but my web was down, so responding here because my secret got totally misinterpreted.

Wasn't complaining about triggers, I actually think they're generally a good thing. My point was more people complaining how fandom is especially (x), when it's really meaningless to make that criticism without context - what communities would they hold to lack these problems?

Juuust out of curiosity, how did you know that the anon commenting in thread 14 was also the maker of the secret? Have you been IP-logging/tracking the secret submissions post, or am I missing something?

IP logging was off and on during the past week due to trolls and spamming, yeah. So yep, all I had to do was compare.

I'm not really sure where exactly you draw the line when you make these decisions (and yes, I read the FAQ about it), but does #31 not count as a personal attack? It's not just "I think this blog is stupid" but directly saying that the person who writes it is a loser. Not cool.

I found an update for NVIDIA's driver when checking out Windows Update (I have Windows XP), I installed, restarted the computer, no problems. Then I went back to Windows Update and installed other things (security updates for XP and .NET Passport, I think) and restarted again, and now my monitor's configuration is all messed up!

The highest configuration now is 960 x 600 pixels with 32-bit colors, but in reality it's stuck at 640 x 840 and 4 bit colors, since any change I try to make doesn't stick.

It looks like something out of Windows 95, wtf.

I cannot change back to a previous driver because apparently there is no such backup stored, and I'm too scared to try to remove the driver in case my monitor stops working altogether -- which it did for a while, freaking me out completely, until I turned my computer off and the on and ended up with this retro-configuration.

Help? Please? Somebody? D=:

NEVER MIND, A NEW DRIVER DOWNLOADED DIRECTLY FROM NVIDIA'S WEBSITE MAGICALLY SOLVED EVERYTHING.

MY FAITH IN WINDOWS UPDATE HAS BEEN SHATTERED, SNIFF, BUT EVERYTHING WORKED OUT.
