Are you still as attached to the old stuff? I find when my fandom love dies, so does my love for moooost of the merchandise, so I can sell it (to buy moar!) or give it away, etc. Often I have a few "prize" pieces I want to keep for sentimental reasons or whatever, but I discover that I don't really need/want all the merch. Most of it resells really well, too, and, at least for me, most of it appreciates in value.

If you haven't sold any of your old merch really dig a box out, take a look at it and just do it. If you haven't thought about it in 12 months and seeing it again doesn't fill you with squee, sell it off to someone who will appreciate it. No need to purge all the old stuff, but you'll know when you look at it. You'll be like, "Wow, I don't even remember buying this!"

Yeah, if there are fans around interested in your old stuff, try offering it to them! Or if you just want to give it away and don't want the money for whatever reason, team up with someone to make a contest or a raffle or something with the items as prices.

Getting rid of stuff you don't want anymore is healthy.
