You're what people call a hoarder. My family is the same way. I try to be conscious about my purchases and the internet has really helped because most things can be found used if they're no longer being manufactured on ebay or something. I do a lot of wishlists and "window shopping" online, but never buy anything. It gets the collecting out of my system if I just collect the item somewhere else. I've also forced myself not to buy things right away even if I really want it. I know that prices will go down and I'll change my mind. I'll wait a few months and then ask myself, "Do I really want this? Like REALLY want it?" and if I hesitate, then no, I don't. I also make little rules that I refuse to buy certain items over a certain price. Like I won't buy a blu-ray movie over $20, period. If it's over the price then I wait. And limited editions and collector editions really aren't all that they're cracked up to be and most aren't worth it unless it's something you've been dying for to have forever. And, yes, I was in a position before where I missed out a collector's edition that I still wish I could get today, but the only place I could get it is on ebay for ridiculous prices. I've let it go and settled for the regular copy and I'm happy with that.
