I'm confused... you're sad there's not more well written het fic for your preferred fandom, and yet you complain about having to sift through poorly written slash fic? Why couldn't you just say, "I have difficulty finding well written fic about my preferred pairing/plot point"?

THIS. That's not to say there aren't people who will accuse someone of homophobia for stupid reasons. But not phrasing your unhappiness in terms of not liking all the slash is less likely to raise people's suspicions. Just say you wish the pairings you like are written more often. That's a problem a lot of fans encounter, anyway.
