i was outraged because i thought i was putting up with gwen's bland, basic existence for a reason. y'know, chekhov's gun and all that. i mean, it's not like she DOES anything on a regular basis. so only reason why she's here is because they'll foreshadow the affair... right?

but no. she has NO purpose for existing. she is irrelevant in the great scheme of things and could be replaced by any stereotypical princess. her existence doesn't enrich the narrative in any way. same for lancelot, by the way.
