RPS is a type of slash.

No. Slash is male (and sometimes female, depending on how you ask) homosexual romantic or sexual pairings. RPF is stories about real life people. You can put slash in your RPF if you like, but they are two entirely separate things.

No one's saying they are the same thing, but they do intersect. RPS does fall under both slash and RPF, and it gets criticism from both camps, people that think RPF is creepy and people who are not into slash.
And stop assuming people don't know what slash and RPF are, people here are probably just as well-versed in fandom as you are.
