can I get a trigger warning for people asking for trigger warnings? Seriously, every time I see someone "waaaaah"-ing over this I get these uncontrollable feelings of rage and despair, and then it makes me intensely depressed and want to get drunk. The requests for trigger warnings are triggering me. Oh what to do, what to do.

So basically you just don't give a shit about other people and how they might be distressed over something that doesn't bother you specifically, because of a mental illness you don't happen to have. Must be awesome to be so mentally healthy and shit all over other people that aren't.

Though I agree that there's no point in putting a warning in front of an image anyone would see if they scroll past. A cut would work better

actually, and in all seriousness, I'm pretty much a mental fucking wreck and have several triggers that cause genuine and serious flashbacks and panic attacks. Its a rare day that goes by where I don't get triggered by something, in seriousness and without flippancy. However, it is my mental health, and I will face those problems and continue to improve and recover. I acknowledge, as part of my recovery, that others are not responsible for my mental health and that wanting everything conveniently labelled so I can hide will only make my problems worse. Recovering means facing those triggers, getting triggered, and accepting responsibility for over coming the effects.

I just want to commend you, anon. This is what I wish more people would do. I also have severe triggers but I work through them and I don't freak out when I'm not warned. It's about getting over it and working your way through it.

It's like, I might have the same illness as someone else but the same meds won't work on both of us. Everyone is fucking different, acknowledge that and empathize

Also, trigger warnings should not be that big a deal for people they don't apply to. It's like when you go in a haunted house or stand in line on for a roller coaster and see the exit signs and/or staff members who escort people out who need to leave. You can still have your fun, and the people who aren't having fun can go somewhere else.

In short, making things better for everyone is commendable and necessary.

Shut the fuck up with the whole "bawww trigger for triggers" horse shit. You're being sarcastic, and it's not necessary. Just because you might not get triggered by anything all that easily doesn't mean you have the right to be an insensitive prick and shit all over those that are still working past certain triggers.

Yeah, I don't get easily triggered by cutting unless the imagery is intense. Does that mean I have the right to disregard the fact that others are? Fuck no. Just because a person might not be bothered by numbers doesn't mean that I won't avoid them like the plague to avoid falling into that mindset again. Not everyone's minds work the same.
