I would love, love, love, love, love historical companions. I remember I had such high hopes for Rinette the first time I watched "Girl in the Fireplace". Someone like that would be brilliant on-board.

I don't think someone like Reinette could ever have been a regular companion, because she was too important too history to keep running around space and time. Someone in the general mold would be great, though.

It's cliche as hell, but my inner nerd would adore to watch a Regency era well-bred poor relation type ending up an intergalactic heroine.
