I kind of agree with you. It is weird because I think that Dean is a bottom an Sam is a top. But it reverses for RPS because Jensen is totally a top to me and Jared is totally a bottom.

I feel like this is a weird question, but why top!Sam/bottom!Dean? I feel like most of fandom agrees with you, but I see it as mostly the opposite. Agree on Jared and Jensen, though.

Different anonymous but it's a thing I have with incest: the older sibling has to be in a more sexually submissive role to ensure that he is not in some way forcing the younger sibling into the act. I can't stand the idea of the older forcing himself on the younger, because it screams "rape and molestation" to me. If the younger's more dominant, there's no outside pressure on him to do what he does.

I don't actually like the idea that the top is always bigger than the smaller, so it switches when the two aren't related to each other.

So for you, it's more what you can be comfortable with and what makes the ship enjoyable. I would completely understand if that was part of the reason for some people and I can see specifically with this ship why that would be an issue. I guess my question is more for the people who feel as if those positions are in character.

I remember when I first said that, way back when SPN was in season 1.

I was dogpiled by the fans for suggesting such a thing.

I think it might be because Jensen is the quieter, reserved one, while Jared is the outgoing, spontaneous one. I don't ship J2, but I can see why Jared would be considered the top for the most part. (But if I did, I would probably want Jensen to top just because he would be so awesomely stoic and all that. But I try not to think about it too much because, lol, they are married and I am happy for their families.)

Now, if you asked about Sam and Dean? Sam on the bottom all the time, although I do appreciate a good bottom!Dean now and then.

Ain't it annoying when your shipping buttons seem to lie opposite of what fandom prefers? I don't ship SPN, but so many fandomes I've poked my head in seem to have a preference and it's nearly always the opposite of what I personally prefer.

Though honestly, I don't think there's any objective wrong or right top, but it sure seems like sometimes one way just seems to turn me on more than the other.

Just going from the RPS angle (because I know we all know that they're not up to the sexy stuff together), they could always just switch it up.
