I think one of the things that makes them so amazing is their 'happy ever after' happens very early in the film, whereas it's the climax for most Disney movies which contain romance. So we get to see them being a couple, rather than them becoming a couple. It's really nice to just see some sweet domesticity. It's one of the things I love about Pacha and his family in The Emperor's New Groove. In a lot of Disney films that focus on romance, even the lead characters' parents aren't shown being particularly domestic or loving towards each other - often the leads are orphans, have only one parent, or their parents (usually not related by blood, in these cases) are villains.

My favourite Disney movie BY FAR.

Anita and Roger are flawless and my parents actually bought a dalmatian because I was stanning for the movie so hard as a kid :D In retrospect I see that's not the kind of thing you should do, but we loved our dogs to an absurd extent so it all worked out wonderfully. /csb
