Haven't seen the anime in the secret, but been there I think.

We're talking about a slavishly devoted girlfriend who'll put up with absolutely any amount of your shit, and practically worship the ground you walk on, because ~true love~?

If so, I have a secret in this batch about ending a relationship like that, and as fun as it can be (and what an ego boost), it's absolutely toxic, and I've been significantly happier since I ended it.

Like her intentionally getting pregnant, or working herself up into a frenzy over imagined cheating and doing something silly had become fears at the back of my mind that I couldn't quite dismiss as ridiculous.

Yeah it's all fun and games until she turns the axe on you because if she can't have you, nobody can. Then she'll keep your head and sleep with it.

I like insane characters in fiction, I find them fascinating but a yandere's in real life would be terrifying and not to mention unhealthy. You'd never have any privacy nor would she allow you to have friends, especially of the opposite sex. She would kill/harm anyone you give more attention to than her. She'd be completely dependent on you and have no opinion of her own because she worships the ground you walk on. Fantasize about it all you want but I don't wish this on anybody.

Maybe a little off the point but I prefer yangire (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CuteAndPsycho?from=Main.Yangire) type characters over yandere. Same craziness but without the obsessive possessiveness over one person.

Let me just say, I read "Mirai Nikki" and loved it. It was brilliant. But the having a girlfriend like Yuno? Yeah...Not the best. Sure, she'll protect you by killing everyone who tries to hurt you, but she'll also kill everyone who tries to be friends with you just in case you fall in love with them instead of her.

"If Yukki becomes friends with her, then Yukki might fall in love with her..."

Probably not the best. Maybe if you get a future-predicting diary it'll be okay, but otherwise...

Dude, have you read Volume 6 where he just tells her he loves her and then thinks everything is going to be fine and BAM-he ends up locked in an abandoned hotel with her helping him pee? That shit is fucking creepy. You do not want that, I am sure.
