Garak is a fandom favorite, and I can't say the same about Quark. I think the whole "killing people" thing is part of Garak's appeal (at least for me, because Garak is awesome). That said, Quark is also awesome. He was definitely one of my favorite characters, so nothing to be ashamed of anon! He had a great character arc and this cool anti-hero thing going on.

Agreed. I love Garak. I also love Quark. Actually, I quite like Nog and Rom too. I was only about 13 when I was watching DS9, so I found the Ferengi episodes funny rather than grating (I went back to them age 18; my god I see why my dad used to sigh heavily whenever one came up) so there's always a soft spot in my heart for them.

And hey, I think a lot of people find out about fetishes through fictional characters. God knows I did. There's nothing wrong with that, anon.

Agreed on all counts! Especially Nog and Rom! All of Quark's family is wonderful, really.
...And I still find the Ferengi episodes funny!

I just liked having a breather episode now and then between the unremitting angst-fest DS9 could turn into.

The Ferengi episodes (and TRIBBLES cause erryone loves them) are the only DS9 episodes I can stand. #doingitwrong but idc they're kinda painfully funny..
