(Anonymous) 2011-12-27 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)I love Belle/Beast, and I don't claim that their early relationship didn't have effed up elements to it. I do think that after he released her though the relationship changed and it no longer had abuse in it, but to say the early relationship wasn't bad is... well, wrong.
Although I do like to point out to people who are excessively ragging on everything and how bad a person Beast is for kidnapping her that they are using a lot of real world logic in that situation. I mean, in the real world people don't typically get curses on themselves that turn them into horrible monsters until true love breaks the spell. Really, I imagine as far as excuses that semi-justify kidnapping someone, the chance to break a horrific curse on you and all your servants is a good one (and one that isn't present in the real world).
