Ahaha, yes, I've been reading the rant meme again as well. Haven't checked it today though, but now I must.

Honestly, people like what they like, no one should be bitched at over it. I don't have a problem with people liking Sherlock centric or whump stories, and I don't think the OP does either; they just want to be able to find something other than that too. And you can, if you look hard enough, but yea, it's not easy; why shouldn't they be able to express disappointment about that?

Hell, I feel the same way with Thor fandom. I left that fandom in a week or two and never went back.

there are a lot of really fun and great people in that fandom (I still lol over the dachsund crack fic) but there is...so. much. woobie!Loki. I just couldn't hang. WHY

I went into Thor fandom wanting lots of Thor/Loki but the Thor/Loki I found was miles away from anything I was interested in so I abandoned ship quickly.

I'm sure the people are nice, as are most of the people in Sherlock fandom I've conversed with or seen around, but yea, the fic and the way the majority of the fandom viewed Loki didn't interest me.

I feel ya. I actually went into the fandom looking for Jane/Thor, because I've shipped it for a long time and I thought the movie didn't do a good job handling the romance subplot (one of the few het pairings I really like too), so I thought fanfic would make up for it. I think I actually found more Darcy fic than Jane fic though, so that was a bust. I tried Loki/Thor for a while, but like you said, the characterization was a little wonky. On the bright side though, the kink meme made me discover that I am inexplicably fond of Hawkeye/Coulson. So there's that.

Oh, you know, I actually liked Jane/Thor, I thought they were adorable. I'm sorry you didn't like the way the movie handled it, but I went into it fearing how it would be portrayed and actually being pleased.

I would have read fic of it too anon, but the fandom just has no interest in it. I LIKE Darcy myself, but not enough to read fic centered on her. And I've never tried Hawkeye/Coulson, I think because I secretly want to see Hawkeye/Thor because of Hawkeye's LIKE FIVE SECONDS IN THE MOVIE and I realize how ridiculous this is. We'll just have to be satisfied with our own imaginations, I suppose.
