Because there are hundreds of fandom secret blogs like these on tumblr that are a lot more convenient.

Just because you're too technologically impaired* for Tumblr (and it still boggles my mind how many people proudly announce that they can't figure out as boneheaded a site as Tumblr) doesn't mean its inherently inconvenient to use.

While I concur that Tumblr really isn't set up to facilitate discussion, submitting secrets doesn't neccessarily require much conversation. Not everyone sticks around to read people's responses, after all, and I could see Tumblr blogs potentially being attractive to that kind of secret poster, especially if there's one specific to their fandom.
