I think she extent of her "bi-ness" is that she's probably kissed a couple of girls in the past and considers herself bi because of it. But I certainly don't think she's actually bi. And I hate how she fetisizes homosexuality in her songs/videos.

I think that's a pretty broad assumption to make. You have no idea what Gaga's actually done or what she identifies as privately. She could be bi and taking advantage of it for marketing or she could be faking it all the way. But I think assuming she's faking it is stupid as hell. Speaking as another bi girl used to having people not believe me because lol I just want attention from boys and I'm faking it, apparently

Also: So you'd rather she fetishize heterosexuality like every other pop music video out there? Sex sells, and if she can sell gay sex... that's progressive, isn't it? Isn't there a good message of love and pride and whatever in there somewhere?

I have to agree with this. I tend to take people's own opinion of their sexuality as gospel. It really doesn't matter how much or what she's done with other women, if she says she's bi, to me, she's bi.

Yeah this. I knew I was bi all my life, but for a long time I worried I must be "bi-curious" because I hadn't done anything with women yet and had heard from lesbians that bisexual women just play with their emotions and break their hearts. I really should not have bothered internalizing nonsense that people with a prejudice against me had. I was so scared to do anything because what if I didn't like it, and turned into the dreaded Bi-curious?

Now I'm mostly a dyke anyway. But one with very low tolerance for "But SOME women kiss women to get boys hard! And I know exactly who those women are and can point them out to you because my fauxgaydar is AMAZING, BITCHES."

as another bi person who has had several girls claim to be bi, only to kiss me to get the attention of some guy across the bar, I claim the right to be a little annoyed and doubtful of Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga is on par with Katy I KISSED A GIRL FOR MY BOYFRIEND Perry for me when it comes to representing queers.

Yep, the "you're faking it" thing is just tons of BS. And I have no idea why anyone would care enough about Gaga to 1) bother assuming anything about her and then 2) actually get offended. Whu?

If a virgin can consider herself straight, then anyone else can consider himself bisexual. You don't have to be sexually involved with a certain gender to know you are sexually attracted to that gender.
