Scans-Daily is treated as joke everywhere on the internet, and it's well-deserved. It's gotten to the point where you can't call a fictional female character "hysterical" because hundreds of years ago it was derived from the word "uterus". I wish I was making that up.

Except the reason the mod gave was because of the origins of the word. The poster who used the comment wasn't even aware of the connotation.

The mods are just a bunch of nutjobs on a power trip. Its sad that they managed to scare so many posters off. S_D is a shell of what it used to be.

Denial isn't just a river in Egypt.

There are quite a few people, including long term posters, who have either left or rarely post anymore because of their frustations with how anal the mods have become. Not to mention the creators like Gail Simone. Not to mention people who haven't registered because of it's incredibly poor reputation.

But by all means, feel free to delude yourself that the mods aren't scaring people off.

I remember how enjoyable the community used to be. I mean, I read my very first stupid guro manga there! They even posted scans from Bradherley's Coach!

Maybe because you are just as much of an asshole as them? Really now, what did you expect, a tiny crown? There are some serious problems with s_d, and you act like your experiences and your expectations are somehow more important that others, and in a way policing what the people can think and say? Why don't you tell us why s_d is such an awesome site, maybe you could convince others to join the community if they see what a cool place s_d is! Because saying that "lol I'm friend with the admins" means little to nothing, as being a good person=/=being a good mod/admin/somebody in important position.

WTF, you did not just call Foxhack an asshole.

He can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think his point was that it's odd how you/other anons believe the mods are all evil power-tripping jerks, when in reality Foxhack left the community some time ago and yet still maintains friendships with mods/former-mods.

IDK about you, but I think most people avoid being pals with "a bunch of nutjobs on a power trip".

Well, I was never a mod there. So I really can't be a powertripping person kinda thing when it came to S_D.

And yes, I did have bad experiences there. A lot. I caused problems for people too without realizing it (I once posted scans of a chain-smoking, alcohol drinking, father disrespecting Jesus Christ. On Easter weekend. Yes, I'm that dense.) And I did leave over issues with the rules. But those same rules made sure the stuff I had bad experiences with doesn't show up there very often, or have some sort of warning label on them, so...

And I was a longterm poster who left because the mods were complete assholes. So I guess it balances out in the end. :)
