A lot of people say this, and as much as I try to see it, I just can't. To me, Artemis seems more like the kind of girl who needs some sort of verbal back and forth in her life. Not necessarily fighting, but some sparring, and so on, and Kaldur, much as I adore him, he's a little too quiet, ya know? (I mean, yes, he's snarky and so on, but he's also very quiet.)

On a purely aesthetic level, though, they do look really good together, IMO. But I can't switch seeing them in more of a older brother/younger sister dynamic in my head. A very attractive older bro/younger sis, but still, that's the dynamic I see, and I don't ship that.

/just my opinion though

Man, I just want one big giant Young Justice pile, with everyone smooshing everyone. It's surprisingly hard to find fics/art like that.

As for Kaldur/Artemis, I agree with the comment at the top of the thread - I think Artemis as she is now needs somebody she can clash with. When she's a bit more settled, a bit more mature, then Kaldur would be a good choice, but for now he's too collected and together. Kaldur/Artemis would be a nice future pairing though.

Ooooh, I might just do that! I stopped going to the meme a while back because it was just so damn huge and growing so rapidly that I found it too difficult to navigate. But OT6/OT7s might be enough to draw me back in....

It is a little more than whelming, that's for sure (heh, couldn't resist).

But it has slowed down a fair bit since it started, so you should have time to catch up now. Plus, I track all of the request posts so I see new entries in my inbox, so I don't miss anything new popping up.

Polyamory fic isn't my thing, but there have been some good ones over the prompts; I think it'd be worth it to run through the older stuff.

Makes more sense how? I'll admit they could work well as a couple, with their mutual respect for each other and their friendly interaction, and you're certainly free to ship them as you please but ehhhh... I dunno I don't think I feel the same "click" you're feeling. I can't really see it happening on the show in any romantic sense.

They are very pretty together though.

I'm not sure how I feel about Kaldur/Artemis (honestly never gave them much thought in a 'together' sense), but I really want this whole spitfire thing to be a massive red-herring on the writers part (I know it's not). I usually love heated, banter-heavy pairings. But it's just like... they've been pushing this thing so hard :/

Bleh. Tangent. Could you elaborate a bit more on why you feel Kaldur/Artemis would make more sense, OP?

I think it's more like I don't like the senseless banter. They clash so much and it's hard to imagine them surviving a relationship. I've been in that situation--great for sex, but as for the personal well being for both people involved...not so much. To me, Kaldur and Artemis hold a better chance at a relationship. I mean, he's the one who basically welcomed her first.

That's really all I meant. Sorry to confuse everyone.

As much as I sometimes wish Kaldur would stop getting the short end of the relationship stick, so far I can only see him as a big brother type to, like, EVERYONE on his team.

Still, props to you for shipping him with Artemis.

I still love Kaldur/Conner. It was a thing for about two minutes in the fandom (and there were a few lovely fics) but then Robin/Superboy and KF/Robin kind of took over and poor Kaldur started getting ignored. :(

Yeah, I've noticed as much. It's sad that Kaldur can't even seem to get a hold in the slash side of things either. KF/Robin really seems to be the leading slash ship, that's for sure.

Kaldur seems like such a sweetheart, him being left out of the YJ romance scene (both in canon and in fandom) breaks my heart.

...But I'd take Artemis out of the picture, and put Kaldur and Wally together. KF would pull Aqualad out of his shell a little, and in turn might get mellowed out juuuust a little by Kal. Never mind that there's almost no reasoning behind Flashfishing; reason is highly overrated. XP

I agree. At least they wouldn't get into childish fights over nothing. Honestly, I don't get the whole we-fight-all-the-time-that-means-we-must-fuck trope.

I think that trope is pretty tiring when it comes to adult relationships (especially when it's the premise for so damn many shitty rom-coms) but I don't mind it so much when it involves teenagers. Because at that age we all sucked at being able to deal with our emotions and hormones and talking to people we liked.

I probably shouldn't be watching this show then...

OT, but I'm still mystified by this cartoon's popularity with the 20+ fandom crowd (not as bad as Ponies, I know).

From the amount of quality fanwork produced and the lengthy, mostly intelligent discussion about it, I was expecting something similar to B:TAS, but it turned out pretty average. Less fun than Teen Titans, even.
