I think a lot of people are beginning to think that now. I don't think this is even the first secret here saying that

I like it a lot better too. Some of the episodes are even...dare I say poignant? (okay, maybe that's not a word that should exactly be given to a Seth MacFarlane show. but some of the episodes made me feel ~emotions~)

Actually, yeah, I think American Dad handles tough issues in a lot of poignant ways. Like when Stan develops an eating disorder? The revelation in that episode (the "twist," you might say) was so perfect that I was truly stunned. Or the episode where Stan "chooses" to be gay? I thought that was a really elegant way of showing how sexuality isn't a choice. It's good show and, yeah, it has its stupid moments, but it also has some really powerful ones, too.

I actually really liked episode where Francine becomes a surrogate for the guys across the street. Sure, the premises was pretty ridiculous (Stan kidnaps the baby in order to give her to a more "wholesome" family), but he actually had a genuine change of heart in the end and realized that "traditional" families aren't the only ones who can raise a happy child (plus Jane Lynch voiced one of the lesbian mothers, which gave it points in my book)
