I think a lot of people are beginning to think that now. I don't think this is even the first secret here saying that

I like it a lot better too. Some of the episodes are even...dare I say poignant? (okay, maybe that's not a word that should exactly be given to a Seth MacFarlane show. but some of the episodes made me feel ~emotions~)

It is funnier than Family Guy. Seriously, the moment American Dad stopped trying to be Family Guy (which, admittedly, was a real problem in the first season) it definitely came into its own and has been a terrific show ever since. Family Guy, however, has only gotten worse. I'll take the Smiths over the Griffons any day!

Family Guy lost any sense of good humor it had a while ago. I like American Dad much better these days, I just hope it doesn't go down the same bullshit route.

I totally agree. I love American Dad to death, but I can't stand Family Guy.

I think they're both equally terrible.

I find them about the same really. They both have episodes I like and episodes I can't stand...though at least American Dad doesn't have the tired non-sequitur lead ins and I don't feel like all of the characters are complete douches all the time. Ok reading that, maybe I do lean towards American Dad.

Thay is hardly a secret. Of course there precious few things less funny than FG. Maybe a tin of mouldy tomato soup, that might be less funny than Family Guy

Practically everything is funnier than Family Guy...

I used to love "Family Guy," but "American Dad" won me over while I was watching reruns last month, mostly due to this gem.

Agreed, pop culture references are the lowest form of comedy, and Family Guy abuses it left and right. It also handles certain issues terribly. American Dad, not so much.

But if I recall right, McFarlene isn't as involved with American Dad so SURPRISE SURPRISE it's better.

I thought this was the general sentiment about both shows?

Never seen an ep of American Dad, though now I want to hit it up on Netflix now.

I just love how American Dad does have some character development and doesn't pisses on certain characters ALL THE FUCKING TIME. Family Guy got on my nerves when they just constantly bash Meg and no one else really.
