I'd really like to know all the series/characters in this secret.
The first one looks like it's from V, and the last one is Spiderman, d'uh, but I don't know the rest.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-08 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
That answers your obscurity question, secret poster! ;)

(Anonymous) 2012-01-08 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
OP here, and I'm happy to oblige! I was gonna list them all when submitting the secret, but I figured it'd be really clunky and take up lots of space. Plus, it also would've meant no questions and consequently no chance to talk about these *is desperate, and will take whatever she can get at this point*

Sooo, from left to right and top to bottom, we have:

Lydia and Diana from V, Sukune and Isachi from Nomi No Oh, Jeffrey Kurtz and Hiroki Senoo from Venus Wars, Jack McGee and David Banner from The Incredible Hulk, Marcus Valerius Falco and Gaius Julius Arminius from Les Aigles De Rome, Peter Parker and Jean DeWolff from Spider-Man.

Do let me know if anything catches your fancy! At one point or another I've either written rec/pimping posts or fanfics or just done picspams for pretty much all of these, haha. And hey, good job on recognizing two of them! :Db

Thanks, I'll be sure to check them out, they all seem interesting.

Les Aigles De Rome

Oh hello there series I read two days ago. Who are all these French people on F!S today?

(Anonymous) 2012-01-09 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
I'm Swedish actually, but whatever ;)

Kinda super-excited to meet someone else who's read it, NGL! Did you like it, or...?

(Anonymous) 2012-01-09 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
I'm half-Swedish, half-French, actually — nice coincidence! Also, uh, I had no idea it had been translated. It's a pretty recent series.

I did! the first book better than the second, tbh — the two of them growing up and learning how to function around each other, that was pretty great. The second part was a bit underwhelming.

Do you know if Les Aigles De Rome has an english translation? It's just so pretty! Unfortunately, I only know like three words in french.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-09 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
There is, actually! Not official though -- and sadly there is at least one really horrible error in the translation. Still, it's definitely better than simply picture-reading the French books! (The most recent volume, the third, hasn't been translated yet AFAIK.)

Do you want me to upload the files for you? I know I have them on my computer somewhere...

[identity profile] gayseaotter.livejournal.com 2012-01-09 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Oh my gosh, if you could that would be so awesome! And I don't mind waiting so don't feel like you have to rush! :D

I had to search through these comments too because I couldn't believe someone actually posted a secret for Les Aigles de Rome! CRAZY. You are not alone though, OP!
I actually picked it up while studying in France (along with some other gorgeous comics) that I can't read (I know practically no French) but fell in love with anyway.

A translation would be greatly appreciated!

Now if only I could find one for Jazz Maynard...

Can I say how excited I was not only to see the 616 Spidey comics in a secret but JEAN DEWOLFF? Oh Jean, you died before the month I was born but I still love you to pieces.

Oh yay, this made me really happy! I love older Spidey (my first comic obsession, probably) -- and Jean was always one of my favorites. Not that I didn't love Felicia, don't get me wrong, but... I really wish Jean and Peter could've had a chance.

[identity profile] skalja.livejournal.com 2012-01-09 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm, to be honest, I don't really ship Jean/Spidey. I think at that period in his life the gap in emotional maturity would've been too much -- he was still getting a hang of this whole adulthood thing, whereas Jean was well into an established career. (The latter would've been a huge issue, since Peter was insecure about not being the main provider until after he married MJ -- I can't imagine Jean being nearly as patient about that BS as she was!) But if Jean'd lived a few more years? I'd've been all over that.

The scenario just screams for a good AU, but based on Marvel's iffy track record with What Ifs and the like I'm not holding my breath. :(
