I'd suggest trying to find a part of the fandom outside that particular BNF's circle of influence first, because this one doesn't sound that eager to welcome your input and fanworks. If that doesn't work out, then it would probably be a good idea to just start fresh under a different username (though that might be a bit tough if you like to draw and post fanart).
