Argh, this sort of shit annoys the crap out of me (the insane reaction some people have to concrit, that is, not anything you did) because it makes it so goddamn hard for anyone else to get it. I even ask, these days, on every single piece, for concrit, and very rarely do I get any. I know it's not because my writing's perfect, because a) nothing's perfect and b) I'll always spot something weeks or months later where I think, "Damn, that was some awkward phrasing," or, "Actually yeah, that leap of logic doesn't make sense." I get that giving concrit is hard work, especially when you're trying not to make the writer feel bad, but I used to get it when I started years ago, and nowadays it's just...nothing. For the last two or three years I don't think I've had any, but I've seen a lot more people saying, "I don't give concrit because people have gone nutso on me and it's just not worth it." RARGH. Nobody can fucking win!

Okay, but to actually reply to your secret: you only made a mistake insofar as you didn't see where your actions were going to lead to. You didn't actually do anything wrong. If someone literally can't take concrit then they should not be posting their work in public with the option for comments.

It's hard to give detailed advice because there's not any information on what the abuse is or how it works, but I guess I'd just say generally it depends on how you want to play it. If you can put up with people being dicks and there is still good stuff for you in the fandom, keep at it and either ignore people being mindlessly abusive, or call them out on it (without lowering yourself to being abusive too). Block and report what you can. If you just can't deal with it right now, make a sock and continue like that. Good luck though with whatever you choose to do.
