My Hawkes are called Dude and Babe. Obviously they are the best names, and perfectly fit the atmosphere and nature of Dragon Age.

srsly though I tend to skip over any fic with a named Warden/Hawke that's not a default name. (Although, lol, I am possibly the hugest hypocrite in the land. But yeah, I don't write or read anything these days :( ).

No, I do this too. I don't want to hear about your fabulous special, unique, and beautiful snowflake that is your Warden/Hawke in your fic. Give me the default, that's the one I can relate too.

I think I take my hypocrisy a step farther though, because I prefer the appearance descriptors to be either vague or the default. I don't want to hear about Hawke's long flowing red hair when she's in a family of brunettes.

IDK this game, but really some of the best video game fic I've read uses a different name than the default. It's not always sue-ish.
