Heh, I sort of wish I knew what CC did back in the HP fandom before investing money into her books. Maybe then I wouldn't have to go looking for fans to discuss plot points with. It's not a brilliant series, but I did genuinely enjoy the plot and everyone except Jace. The dialog was kind of forced at times (like everything had to be a pun with no room for seriousness) and Jace came off as a bit of a Gary-Stu. But overall, it's a guilty pleasure.

I really liked Alec, Clary, Isabelle, and Mangus. And after reading the trilogy, spoiler:

Sorry for the ranting. Anon is just frustrated that now that she's invested in this series she has no one to discuss it with who doesn't hate it or loves everything about it and Jace.

I liked them, too. When they were Ginny, Harry, et al in The Draco Trilogy.

I read the Draco Trilogy too and I don't get where you're coming from. Other than the hair, Clary really isn't like Ginny from the Draco Trilogy. I guess you could argue she has some bits of Hermione and Ginny... But when you're getting into that territory where a character is taking parts of a bunch of characters, then they really aren't a clone of a character at all. They become their own.

The plot unfolds differently for Clary, Jace, and the others and they deal with their situations differently than characters in the Draco Trilogy. So again, I don't really see the point about them being clones. The only one that seems legitimate for a clone is Jace who comes off as CC's fantasy, so I would agree with you there. But the others? Nah.
