Actually I always got the impression that she considered herself the queen and icon of the battle for GLBT rights.
But maybe it's just that I don't particularly like her persona. Who knows.

That first link... Lady Gaga looks like she's a fucking cult leader talking to her little followers. It's actually really creepy and somewhat disturbing. Especially how the audience reacts to her and how much they idolize her.

This irked the living hell out of me when she first came on the scene. Seriously, it's nice that she's getting into LGBT rights, but acting like you're the Mother Teresa of gay rights doesn't make you look good.

IA. I think a lot of ex-fans/antis/whatever don't take issues with the fact that she's a pop star and saying these things, but rather that she's all "I'm the warrior for the LGBT community" and THEN saying these things.
