Eastern Promises is the only non-Italian based mob/gang movie I can think of. Focuses on the Russian mob, or the voř v zakone, anyway. It's a David Cronenberg movie from 2007. I've seen it a handful of times, still don't know if I really liked it or not. So, there! *recs*

It's Rino Nakasone Razalan as "Queen Jade", a member of the "Yakuza", in "Siren Assassins" (you might remember her as "Music" from Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Girls, and she's done a lot of choreography for K-Pop artists - f(x), SNSD, TVXQ, BoA, etc.).

You're probably just talking about the movie versions of the RL things, but trust me, there was a reason that the Italians (Sicilians, really, but we'll not get into that too deeply), really ruled cities for a time. I mean jesus, when they went over to the West Coast, their money was what made Las Vegas boom. They did some crazy shit.

Someone mentioned Eastern Promises which is.... I guess okay? I mean, it's just as romanticized as the Italian mobster films as you're harping on. Go watch Bratya.
