that is how TW has come to be used in fandom. People use it to warn for all sorts of content.

And that's part of the problem. It gives more ammo to the people who don't take triggers seriously, when people doing the actual warning confuse "trigger" with "things people are uncomfortable discussing."

Anything CAN be a trigger to specific people. Is abortion a commonly triggering thing?

No it shouldn't, asshole. Traumatic experiences like rape, abuse and SOMETIMES ABORTION should, though.
