(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 01:16 am (UTC)(link)All my guy friends were ecstatic that they could get their hands on anime with lesbians, only to drop it later because of how "boring" it was. All my girl friends (among them a few yaoi fans) were happy to see an anime with strong, female characters. Half of them dropped the series for the same reason the guys did.
I don't think the girls being guys would've made the story any better. Also, the only yaoi fangirls who don't pay attention to the quality of story are the rabid ones. IMO, had there been a yaoi fandom for this anime, it wouldn't have been very good quality-wise.
