We all pick up our fashion sense from things we see. You can imitate things and still make it your own.

Doesn't inspiration come from the weirdest places? I hit on my style between studying about Coyote and discovering the Pin-Up 'look'. Combine the two, add a dash of modernism with a small bit of fantasy based whimsy, and my style and a greater idea of self was found.

It's strange how some things will give us those little epiphanies.

I think it's really cool that you've found something that's inspired you to find a style you feel comfortable with.

That said, as a resident of the UK, I'm thinking you probably haven't been watching reality tv. Or visited the country. xD

Ah but you Brits do dress your parts for work though... I was all OMG!suits, people actually wear suits and not just for Christmas and funerals! WTF!

Yeah... I am and American who is looking into teaching English Abroad and I was all '...Teachers and Professors actually wear suits and professional attire in other countries?!?!' I then felt horribly slobbish and guilty, and even more so when I read stories about fellow American teachers who wore shorts and flip-flops to the job. Because that wouldn't even fly in the US (... For High School and lower, at least. I have seen Professors wear stained T's with shorts and greasy hair before).

Now my wardrobe has been getting a slow update to prepare myself for looking professional as all hell. High heels, guess I will be wearing you to work...

Glad to hear you've found out something about your sense of style/who you are, OP, but what exactly is English style? I am English and I don't think I've ever thought of my country having a unified/known style. Unless you mean... bowler hats and umbrellas? Bowler hats are awesome. Just curious how you define it. :)
