And OP, I think he would have been ecstatic should he have known this. From the interviews he has done, I remember him saying it was very humbling for him to hear people who have had this same reason to become a doctor.

Much agreed in the disappointment at never getting the opportunity to meet De Kelley. He's one of those celebrities I will always regret not having the chance to see in person.

Along with Uhura, Bones was hands down my favorite character in TOS. He was *definitely* my favorite of the Big Three. I suspect he had something to do with my lifelong attraction to male characters who are doctors or healers of some sort.

Pretty much how most people have been in this thread: bros be trollan.

Any sincerely negative comment in terms of being posted porn or being stalkerish or upset at the fandom in those ways is completely understandable.

I don't think they're offended by the slash tbh. It feels like half the interviews I read dodge one way, and half the other on the topic. Obviously not in a "and then they get married" kind of way because... that's not good writing for this incarnation..... but they talk about that interaction plenty, and I think they treat it with respect.
