Yeah, Frozen is a stupid title, especially because "The Snow Queen" sounds so fucking cool. I'll still check out the movie, though, and I will enjoy it as long as the dialog doesn't sound too modern and celebrity-y. A fairy tale needs the atmosphere of a fairy tale!

It's really the only reason why I couldn't get into Tangled. It had beautiful animation and and great story, but the voices and dialog just sucked me out of it. That, and the songs were kinda crappy...

And to Disney's credit, I think that the writers and animators WANT to make a great movie. The execs, however, only want to make money, so they'll make them do whatever they think will "sell." What burns me is that Disney is capable of making great movies that sell! They've done it before!

That's a big part of the reason why I'm so apprehensive about Frozen - it could be awesome because Disney has made some amazing fairy tales, but it could also be terrible. If I knew it was going to be terrible I wouldn't be so worried because I just wouldn't go see it.

Re Tangled, I liked some of the songs (I remember thinking the reprise of Mother Knows Best was awesome) but the first one made me all O_O. It wasn't bad, it just seemed so completely out of place...

I didn't like the way "Mother Knows Best" sounded, but I appreciated it as a villain song. Actually, Gothel is my favorite thing about the movie because she's the most realistic example of an abusive "parent" I've ever seen in a Disney film. And yeah, the reprise was kind of cool.

Agreed on Gothel. I think she's probably one of Disney's most interesting villains. :)

Grothel was my favorite part about Tangled, too. Her emotional abuse was portrayed so, so perfectly.
