To those CGI-bashing: you realize, had Walt Disney been alive, he would have pioneered it, right? He'd be rolling over in his grave at everyone saying Disney should stick to 2D animation. The only thing he'd hate is that Disney didn't pick it up sooner.

In all the discussions about Disneys "Frozen" nobody seems to mention there already is a Snow Queen animated movie. It's called "Снежная королевa"(released in 1957) and I think it holds up pretty good.

I am more worried that "Frozen" will have the exact same plot as "Снежная королевa" only with more pop-culture references and an annoying sidekick.

Eh, it's Disney. I have a bit more faith in them. Look at what they did to Rapunzel. They managed to make it fairly unique.

That's probably because it's not relevant to the secret and no one really cares.

Just because he would endorse and encourage 3D animation does not mean he would want it to completely take over 90% of the company's projects.

I think CGI is great, but there's a disturbing imbalance between 3D and 2D animation in America right now.
