Find a way out, and do it soon. Someone who is consistently judgmental and belittling of you even though he knows it hurts you is an emotional abuser. You know it's not just about comics. It's about control, and it's about the way he sets himself above you and looks down on you. You'll find yourself cutting off more and more little pieces of yourself to try to please him until there's very little of you left, and it still won't please him.

DO NOT marry this man. It sounds like you already pretty much know you don't want to, and to do it anyway would be a horrible thing to do to yourself.

You can be happier alone. You can also find a much, much better person to be with. Maybe a guy who loves comics too! Maybe a guy who's not into comics but has his own dorky hobbies, and you can allow each other the space to enjoy them without ever putting each other down for it! There is so much better out there.

I know times are tough, but they aren't going to get better for you if you stay with him. They'll only get worse.
