I mean, I'm guessing manga get sent to you to review them. Reviews DO support the industry. You're writing to earn your manga.

I'm alright with scanlations because the delay between volumes hitting the US and being released in Japan is usually atrocious, and then I buy the volumes when they come out. But your reasoning is flawed IMO.

Not OP, but I think what they're main complaint is the fact that the reviewers are taking the stance of 'YOU SHOULD BUY IT OR YOUR A HORRIBLE PERSON' without actually buying it themselves, more than their actual attitude towards piracy.

I just don't see how it's the same thing, though. The way I see it, the writing you do IS payment for the product you receive for free. A good piece of writing often sells for more than 10$ on the freelance market, so I'd even say the writer would be putting in more effort than expected to earn it.

So I guess IMO, I don't see the hypocrisy if a person like that is anti-scanlation.
