BLUH MANGA IS JUST SO EXPENSIVE. i used to buy it all the time when i was a kid, but i pretty much only buy quality one-shot manga now that i can no longer get my parents to buy me everything i want. viz's "sigikki" line has been very kind to me in that respect; they tend to publish the more obscure seinen that i'm really into. i would recommend stuff from that line to anyone who wants to buy something that is worth their while! the presentation and design of the covers is also really nice. among others, i've bought inio asano's what a wonderful world, natsume ono's not simple and la quinta camera, and fumi yoshinaga's ooku from that line, all of which i've read more than once. also detroit metal city, which is a little different... but, um, it came with free temporary tattoos! haha. the point is, i never would have chosen those great manga if not for piracy! i read oyasumi punpun online which prompted me to buy more of inio asano's works, etc.

anyway. i donated a metric fuckton of old manga to my local library, so some kid out there with bad google-fu now has access to everything koge-donbo has ever written...

aww yeah! i would absolutely recommend buying what a wonderful world, which is only 2 volumes and is available in english! it is an excellent series of vignettes. her other licensed work is solanin, available in one volume, which is just heart-breaking and wonderful. online, you should read before dawn and the end of the world and a girl by the sea, though the latter is still being scanlated.

....inio asano is just my favorite mangaka ever :O
