I thought wearing anime or hello t-shirts was considered weaboo fashion

but op was referring to normal japanese fashion.

also... hello t-shirts? Hello! Project, perhaps?

oop. meant to write 'hello kitty.'

Anyway, I was wondering why people would think OP's style makes her a 'weaboo' when it doesn't. 'Japanese-style' clothes while not really vogue right now, is still considered trendy among the masses. At least it is here in Australia. A couple of pricey fashion labels here are Dogstar and Maiocchi, which are both Japanese-influenced styles with kimono-style wrap shirts/dresses and prints. The example pic in OP's secret looks like something out of a Dogstar store.

I figured 'weaboos' tend to dress in a way that expresses their interest in Japanese anime/pop culture i.e. DBZ/Hello Kitty shirts, arm warmers, kawaii cat ear hats etc.

This depends on whether the OP means Japanese fashion as the kind you're mentioning. "Japanese" meaning, OMG it looks like a kimono.

Or if she means "Japanese fashion", as in what you see in magazines here in Japan. Which aren't what you mentioned above.

I took it mean she either dresses in Gothic/Gothic Lolita style or Sweet Lolita style, which is definitely a distictly Japanese style.

But, she also mentioned comfort, so it could be what you mentioned, because a loose wrap-style type shirt would be comfortable.
