Um, if you NEED drugs or alcohol to have fun, you don't need to "grow up," you need to seriously seek help, because you have a problem.
OTOH, if you just happen to enjoy the particular version of having fun that is "being intoxicated," well, party on, dude. Party on. Because guess what? Being intoxicated is different than being sober. You can still, say, go to a dance party and have fun sober, but it's straight up not the same KIND of fun. Just like cosplaying is different than hanging out with your friends NOT dressed up.
